About

I’m Alban, a senior engineer who likes making things actually work.

I’ve spent over a decade building software across backend, Android, and the web — from REST APIs and multi-tenant services to custom AOSP builds and frontend UI work. I enjoy the mix of architecture, debugging, and product thinking: taking a vague idea and turning it into something reliable that people can actually use.

How I think about my work

I like systems that are boring in production and interesting in code. That usually means clear boundaries, fewer “clever” abstractions, and a lot of care around reliability, observability, and performance.

On the backend side, I work with Java/Kotlin and Quarkus, reactive pipelines, and data-heavy applications. On Android, I’ve gone deeper into AOSP, device management, and privileged apps than any sane person probably should. On the frontend, I enjoy building clean, minimal UIs with Angular and Tailwind, with SSR when it matters.

Where I’m heading

My focus is moving more into software architecture and product-shaped thinking: choosing the right boundaries, keeping complexity in check, and making sure the system supports the business instead of fighting it.

I like working on things end-to-end — from the database schema and backend flows to the client experience and deployment pipeline. I’m happiest when I can own a problem, design the system, and then build and ship it.

Outside of pure coding

I’m also interested in hardware, electronics, and how software meets the physical world — from custom tools and incubators to home lab networking and tinkering with infrastructure. I enjoy projects where there’s a concrete, real-world outcome, not just a clean Git history.
